Mario Hoffman (44) started his activities on the financial markets in mid-nineties. Together with his business partners he founded one of the first brokerage companies in Slovakia.
By its accession to the European Union, Slovakia has become a strategic trading partner. We joined the Eurozone and became one of the fastest growing economies.
For Mario Hoffmann, Bratislava is an important Central European cultural and political centre. It is not only the hometown of this Slovak financier, but also the centre of his business activities. Mario Hoffmann is a co-founder of ISTROKAPITÁL, a.s. which was formed by the acquisition and transformation of several mutual funds. Before 2002, he was a member of the company’s Supervisory Board and, since 2002, he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ISTROKAPITÁL a.s. Between 2002 and 2005, he gradually purchased company shares and became its majority shareholder. In 2007, ISTROKAPITÁL a.s. transformed to the legal form of a European Company (Societas Europaea) – ISTROKAPITAL SE. Companies belonging to the ISTROKAPITAL Group provide comprehensive services mainly in banking, finance, development and consulting.
The most important companies belonging to the ISTROKAPITAL SE Group include: Poštová banka, Prvá penzijná správcovská spoločnosť Poštovej banky, Poisťovňa Poštovej banky, PB Partner, and ISTROKAPITÁL SLOVENSKO. Mario Hoffmann is also involved in the project of Salt Cay Devco on the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean. With the support from the local community, he is striving to improve and create the best possible living conditions for the population.
